Anand Rajaraman

Anand Rajaraman is the co-founder of Rocketship. He is also a co-founder of Milliways Ventures. He was a board member of H2O.ai. He holds an advisory position at PayMate. He co-founded and served as vice president at Cambrian Ventures. He also co-founded and served as CEO and board member at Kosmix. He was a board member and advisor at ClearStory Data. He is a board member of Transformic. He is a founding partner of Cambrian Ventures. He is a founding partner of WalmartLabs and served as senior vice president. Before founding the firm in 2000, he was chief technology officer at Amazon.com and was responsible for technology strategy and advanced technology initiatives. He helped launch the transformation of Amazon.com from a retail company to a retail platform that allows third-party retailers to sell on Amazon.com. He joined Amazon.com in 1998 as a result of the $250 million acquisition of Junglee, which he co-founded. As chief technology officer, he played a key role in the development of Junglee’s award-winning virtual database technology. He has research and development experience at Stanford University, AT&T Bell Labs and Xerox PARC. He is a consultant assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at Stanford University. He has numerous publications, patents and awards in leading academic and industry forums. He has had articles written about him in Business Week, the San Francisco Chronicle and other leading national publications. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University and his B.S. in computer science and engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where he received the President of India Gold Medal for best graduation from his class.
