Carlos Espinal is a managing partner and board member of Seedcamp. He has served on the board of directors of Pace Revenue. He is also an advisor at Revent Capital. He is a board observer at Habitual. Prior to Seedcamp, he was a venture capitalist at Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures, an early stage investment firm based in London. There he honed his understanding of what investors look for when considering investments. Before Doughty Hanson, he was an engineer in the Advanced Communication Technologies Group of the New York Stock Exchange (SIAC), where he focused on the next generation of wireless and mobile trading platforms for the exchange and developed a great love of cutting-edge technology. Prior to SIAC, he was a network security consultant in the Professional Services division of Baltimore Technologies, where he worked with global clients in the telecommunications and data sectors. He holds an MBA from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and a B.S. from Carnegie Mellon University. In 2015, he published Fundraising Field Guide, a book that aims to decipher the secrets of raising capital from investors for early-stage and high-growth startups, and provide ambitious founders with the information they need to take their company to the next level.
