Previously, he was COO of Ancestry.com (ACOM), where he helped the company transition from a free family social network to a family history subscription service and grew the company from less than $10 million to $150 million in sales and from tens of millions in losses to tens of millions in profits. Before Ancestry.com, he held executive positions at AIG: he was head of marketing and Internet for all of AIG’s Japanese and Korean divisions with more than $5 billion in total sales; and CEO of AIG’s real estate management software subsidiary, a $90 million company whose growth rate has quadrupled during his tenure. Before AIG, he was CEO of Cendant Japan, a joint venture he co-founded with Cendant and Mitsubishi Corporation, which he helped grow from inception to sales and profitability of more than $20 million. Before that, he handled product, marketing, finance and operations at Cendant during its growth from less than $1 billion to more than $40 billion. He has personally invested in more than a dozen startups, including Ancestry, SurveyMonkey, Zillow and Zipcar. He has also served as an independent board member and consultant at Homestead (before its sale to Intuit), Kongregate (GameStop), Logoworks (Hewlett Packard), Netquote (BankRate) and Photobucket (Fox). He graduated cum laude from Princeton University. He also served on the board of directors of Rev. He is on the board of directors of Roblox.
