Ellen Pao

Ellen Pao co-founded and serves as Chief Executive Officer of Project Include. She has served on the board of directors of Atipica. Ms. Pao is also the Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Kapor Center for Social Impact. Ms. Pao has also served as an investment partner at Kapor Capital. Previously, she served as interim CEO at Reddit. She also served as director of business development and strategic partnerships at reddit. She was also a board member at Datameer. She joined Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers in 2005. She also worked closely with KPCB China as a founding member of the investment committee. She was a director on the boards of Lehigh Technologies and Flipboard. Prior to KPCB, Ellen held various leadership positions at BEA Systems, including head of product business development, site manager for new mobile products and head of new engineering in India. She also worked in corporate development, leading strategic projects for the CEO and M&A transactions. Prior to BEA, Ellen worked in business development and technology licensing deals for Tellme Networks, as one of the company’s first 20 employees, and for Microsoft’s WebTV division. She also worked as a consultant at MyCFO and at Danger Research, where she led the initial marketing requirements for Sidekick. Before entering the technology field, Ellen was a corporate lawyer at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in its New York and Hong Kong offices, working on deals in the Philippines, Singapore and Greater China. She has advised on high-yield debt placements, mergers and acquisitions, aircraft financing, and pro bono projects for Habitat for Humanity and Covenant House. Ellen holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a certificate from Princeton University’s Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, an LLM from Harvard Law School, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She also serves on the board of directors of the Apollo Alliance and is a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute. She is also an angel investor. She is an advisor to Range.
