He is a member of the boards of RippleMatch, Blueground and Partnership Fund for New York City, as well as chairman of the board of directors of Meetup. In 2007, along with a team of founders, he created Gilt as an invitation-only website selling expensive women’s clothing and accessories. He is also an advisor at Gather Ventures. Today Gilt has more than seven million users and has added business lines in home, children’s and children’s clothing, menswear and gear, local services and experiences, and founded Japan’s leading flash sales site, a joint venture with Softbank. He is one of the leading Internet entrepreneurs in the U.S., having founded several New York companies, including Gilt and Business Insider. He helped create DoubleClick from 1996 to 2005, first as president and then CEO. He oversaw DoubleClick’s growth from a startup of 20 people to a publicly traded global leader with more than 1,500 employees. He currently serves on the board of Yale Corporation and Human Rights Watch, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a master’s degree from INSEAD. He has also served as an investment advisor at Nyca Partners. He is also co-founder and chairman of the board of directors of Humming Homes. He was a member of the board of directors of Flick.
