Lip-Bu Tan is co-founder and managing partner of Celesta Capital. He is chairman of the board of directors of Cadence Design Systems. He has been a board member of NUVIA, Tagore Technology and Credo. He served as a strategic advisor to IndusAge Partners. Served as chairman of the board of directors at Walden International, SambaNova Systems and Innovium. Served as a board member at Aurasemi. He is a member of the board of directors of SiMa ai. Served on the boards of Komprise, Credo Semiconductor, Fungible, Katana Graph, Lightbits Labs, Exotanium, Prosimo, ProteanTecs, Vayyarand , Quantenna Communications, Inc, Speedata, Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), Electronic System Design Alliance (ESD Alliance) and Global Semiconductor Association (GSA DustPhotonics, Ittiam Systems, Nominating, Governance, and Social Responsibility Committee and Technology Committee at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Served as CEO and board member at Cadence Design Systems. He has served on the boards of Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment and HiDeep. Prior to founding Walden, he served as vice president at Chappell & Co. and held management positions at EDS Nuclear and ECHO Energy. He also serves on the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) Faculty of Engineering Board of Trustees and Dean’s Council. He is the recipient of the 2016 GSA Morris Chang Award for Exemplary Leadership. He received his M.S. in nuclear engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1981, his MBA from the University of San Francisco in 1983, and his B.S. from Nanyang University in Singapore in 1978.
