Mark Wachen is the founder and Managing Director of Upstage Ventures. He is a co-founder and serves as CEO and board member of CardSnacks. He also served as managing director at DreamIt Ventures. He is also a board member of Veritonic. He was a member of the board of directors at Ordergroove. He was co-founder and CEO of Optimost. He is also the founder of Optimost, which pioneered multivariate testing and optimization on the Internet, and served as CEO until it was acquired by Interwoven in November 2007 for $52 million. He also served as an advisor to Acorn. Prior to his entrepreneurial successes, he spent seven years at Sony overseeing various Internet initiatives. He was CEO of Indimi, a company in which Sony owned a majority stake. While there, he oversaw the acquisitions of InfoBeat, AdTools and DailyRating. He was Vice President of Online Ventures at Sony Music, where he led online initiatives, including Sony Music’s investment in Spinner (acquired by AOL for $300 million) and the launch of Sony Music Online in 1994. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College.
