Nicholas Berggruen is an investment advisor at Berggruen Holdings. Committed to leaving a legacy of art and architecture, he serves on the boards of the Berggruen Museum, Berlin, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and is a member of the international boards of the Tate Museum, London, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. He has collaborated on projects with such renowned architects as Richard Mayer, Shigeru Ban and David Adjaye. Mr. Berggruen was born in Paris, where he studied at the School of Alsace and then at Le Rosey in Switzerland. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and International Business from New York University in 1981. Prior to Berggruen Holdings, he worked at Bass Brothers Enterprises, handling real estate for that family investment company, and at Jacobson and Co., Inc. a leveraged buyout company. In 1988, Mr. Berggruen co-founded Alpha Group, a hedge fund that was sold to Safra Bank in 2004. He is a member of WPO-Angeleno; a board member of Promotora De Informaciones, S.A. (Prisa) and Le Monde.
