Sam Yagan is chairman and CEO of Corazon Capital V838 Monoceros. He is a member of Pearachute’s board of directors. Mr. Yagan co-founded Corazon Capital in 2013. From 2016 to 2021, Mr. Yagan served as CEO of ShopRunner, Inc. a multi-product e-commerce platform that enables millions of participants to transact billions of dollars in total merchandise value. He also served as chief operating officer at The Matchett Group in 2020. Mr. Jagan led the sale of ShopRunner to FedEx Corporation (NYSE: FDX). Prior to ShopRunner, Mr. Yagan was vice chairman of Match Group (NASDAQ: MTCH), a position he assumed in 2016 after leading the company as CEO during a period of explosive growth that culminated in a 2015 IPO. Mr. Yagans previous entrepreneurial ventures in the consumer Internet sector include SparkNotes, which is still a leading brand of educational books, and MetaMachine, Inc. once the world’s largest peer-to-peer file-sharing network. Mr. Yagan sold SparkNotes to iTurf, Inc. and then to Barnes & Noble, Inc. where he served as publisher and led the expansion of that digital brand into a multiplatform media business. Mr. Yagan also co-founded OkCupid in 2003, which he led as CEO until its sale to Match Group in 2011. In 2009, Mr. Jagan co-founded Excelerate Labs (now Techstars Chicago), a leading startup gas pedal, and was its first Managing Director. Mr. Yagan serves on the board of directors of several private companies, including The Duchossois Group, SpotHero, Brilliant Worldwide and Grindr. He is an advisor at Monica + Andy. He previously served on the Digital Advisory Board of Target Corp (NYSE: TGT), the Governing Board of Stanford Graduate School of Business and was an advisor to Proctor & Gamble (NYSE: PG). Mr. Yagan also serves on the boards of four non-profit organizations: Start Early, Leaders in Tech, Illinois Mathematics & Science Academy Fund Board and Rush University Medical Center. Mr. Yagan has been recognized in TIME Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World,” Fortune Magazine’s “40 Under 40,” Crain’s Chicago Tech 50 and “40 Under 40,” Billboard Magazine’s “30 Under 30,” and was ranked 19th on Silicon Alley Insider’s list of most inspiring and influential people. Mr. Yagan earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in applied mathematics and economics from Harvard College and a master’s degree in business administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, becoming a Siebel Fellow, an Arjay Miller Fellow and a Henry Ford Fellow, the latter of which Stanford awards annually to a graduate of each class. He also served as an advisor to Hyde Park Venture Partners.
